About
We’re more or less just two people who are very enthusiastic about Maldives and research. When we go somewhere - especially on vacation - we like to do as much research and planning as possible, to make sure we’ve chosen the correct options for what is supposed to be a stress-free and relaxing time. And while we’ve been to Maldives on multiple occasions, we found it continuously difficult to find and - most importantly - compare Maldivian resorts on parameters that matter to us. Therefore, MaldivesFinder.com was born out of our own desire to index the Maldives in a manner where we, ourselves, could use it to find our next island. Because, as those who have been to Maldives usually can attest to, there’s usually a “next time” when it comes to traveling Maldives.
Why this website?
We, ourselves, struggled to compare Maldivian resorts through more traditional hotel-comparing tools that exist out there. The Maldives (and the resorts on Maldives) are simply built differently. For example, it rarely makes sense to compare “distance to beach”, because it will always be the same on every Maldivian resort. We also found that questions from family and friends looking to book a Maldivian holiday were often completely miss-guided: Like where to best rent a car; when you can’t really drive in Maldives at all. We also found different parameters that we would like to compare resorts on, which aren’t largely available otherwise - such as, does the island feature water villas? Or what is the reef like?
We hope that through browsing the Maldivian resorts on our website you will feel better prepared to choose one that fits your needs, and have a better understanding of not only the questions you already had, but also which questions you might want to ask in the first place. The Maldives really does provide a unique traveling experience, and if you haven’t been previously, we totally understand how it can feel overwhelming due to it being so different - which, honestly, is the last thing you want to feel when going on vacation. So, yeah, we’re hoping to both help you, while also helping ourselves, in providing a better tool to find, research, compare and choose Maldivian resorts.
No, really - who are you?
We are a couple from Denmark, who really like to travel (if you’ve been to Denmark, you’ll understand, when you’ve seen the gray skies for three months straight). One of our most beloved destinations is, of course, Maldives. We like to go there, because it one of the few places we’ve traveled, where the vacation is actually entirely hassle-free: From being met by hotel representatives in the airport and transfers, to the complete and utter calm on the islands, the luxurious beaches, snorkeling and delicious food - it truly all comes together as one complete package for us. In Maldives, we don’t have to deal with - well, anything that we don’t want to - on top of being amidst some truly amazing nature. What more could you ask for?
To fund our increasing travel-needs, we do have to work full-time jobs, which we do - reluctantly - from our home base in Denmark. However, MaldivesFinder.com is a passion project, and we have no stake in which resort you choose or which agent you choose to book through.
