Blog
This is a collection of entries largely based around the questions we get asked the most frequently, as well as what we were concerned about before traveling to Maldives. We’ve collected our experience in small, easy-to-read posts - maybe you’ll find a useful trick or two! Do mind that this is all written based on our experience with Maldivian travel and stays, and all opinions are our own.

Review: Adaaran Select Meedhupparu
Meedhupparu is a solid all-rounder of an island. They provide multiple options for both eating and drinking, with a good selection of varied food and drinks to choose from. The food ranges from “just alright” to “actually delicious” in quality. The house reef, while being on the smaller side, still boasts some beautiful corals and probably the most diverse fish life we have yet to come across.

Travel Update: Maldives’ New Ban on Cigarettes and Vapes - What You Need to Know
The Maldives recently announced a significant new regulation affecting both residents and visitors. Starting November 15, 2024, importing vaping devices and accessories will be illegal in the country, with a complete ban on use, possession, and sales following on December 15, 2024.

Sunscreen and SPF on Maldives
Sunscreen and sun protection go hand in hand with a trip to Maldives. You probably know most of it already, and if not, there’s plenty of resources out there to help you learn how to best apply (how often, how much) and how to best protect yourself from sun damage.

Weather on Maldives & Inaccurate forecasts
Are the Maldives weather forecasts accurate? When is the weather best in Maldives? When to visit Maldives? These are some of the questions you might have before visiting the Maldives for the first time - we have tried to answer these questions and more in this blog post.

Rainy day activities
While catching a full rainy day on Maldives is a rarity, you may still wonder about what to do, if you find yourself stuck inside for whatever reason. Fear not, we are here to give you a few ideas!

First time traveling to Maldives
You’re in for an absolute dream of a trip, we dare promise as much. And not the kind that every travel agency promises, where the dreams and reality don’t exactly line up either; no, this is as close as you’re gonna get to those blue seas and skies, white sand and maybe a dolphin or two.

Review: Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon
A stellar housereef provides an out-of-this-world underwater experience for those keen to explore it - it is not to be taken lightly how breathtakingly beautiful it is. The food, as well as the staff at Ellaidhoo also deserves a commendation: They were both, in our opinion, above average in Maldivian standards, which is saying something.

Review: Vilamendhoo Resort and Spa
Vilamendhoo managed to perfectly fill the role of both being a private and intimate place, while also feeling just large and systemized enough that we felt that everything was constantly under control and well managed. For safety-maniacs like ourselves, that’s a plus, but we can also see why someone would find it less charming.

About
We, ourselves, struggled to compare Maldivian resorts through more traditional hotel-comparing tools that exist out there. The Maldives (and the resorts on Maldives) are simply built differently.
