Question 1 / 9

What is your budget

You can select multiple
- per couple
- per couple
- per couple
- per couple
- per couple
Why?

Like any other vacation, the maldives offer a wide range of budgetting options.

If none of the resorts are within your budget we recommend looking into local island stays, but beware this is very different from the resort stays you would usually associate with the maldives.

Most resorts use USD as their preferred currency, which is also why we default to USD.

All prices on our site are estimates based on data found throughout the internet, we do our best to find the best on most correct prices, but take them for what they are, estimates.

Question 2 / 9

How do you feel about meal plans?

You can select multiple
- Please note the you will most likely end up eating at the same restaurants
Why?

For some, all-inclusive really takes an experience to the next level, as you don’t have to worry about any extra costs once you’ve arrived. For others, it can feel a little wasteful, and would prefer the option to choose on the day what and when they’d like to eat or drink; especially if they do not feel like all inclusive is worth it. Both are usually available at most resorts, but some only have one or the other option.

Question 3 / 9

Which of these do you feel apply to you the most?

You can select multiple
- Below 0.1 km2
- Above 0.1 km2
Why?

Most Maldivian island resorts are considered small; for example, almost all of them can be walked in less than 30 minutes at the furthest distance, and no islands require cars for regular transportation. It’s all cozy sand-covered walking paths. But within that scale, the islands still differ in size, and it’s good to make a consideration about whether you like to be at a very small island, which can feel more private and quiet, or at a bit of a larger island, which may have more activities and varieties of restaurants and bars.

Question 4 / 9

Distance from Malé

You can select multiple
Why?

While some people prefer the shortest possible distance from the main airport to their resort, most people prefer at least enough distance to not be able to see or hear the planes landing there.

Ontop of the jetplanes served out of Velana International Airport they also operate the worlds biggest seaplane airport, and though you will come to remember the maldives by the sound of the Twin Otters airplanes (in the good way) you might not want it all the time

Question 5 / 9

How would you like to transfer to the resort?

You can select multiple
Why?

Most resorts in the Maldives offer transfer with seaplanes, this is an unique experience, seeing all the islands from less than a kilometer altitude.

While we recommend this, once in a lifetime experience, for new visitors, we recognize that is it not for all; It is quite loud and in sub-optimal weather conditions it can be a bumpy ride, furthermore this is usually a few hundred dollars mores expensive than a speedboat per person

Question 6 / 9

Are you planning to snorkel/dive at the house reef?

You can select multiple
Why?

For some, it’s very important that the resort has an accessible and beautiful house reef, where you can just wander off into the ocean straight from your doorstep. For those who prefer to stay on land, this is not a priority. Not all islands are created equal, so it’s valuable to ask yourself which bucket you fall into, when choosing a Maldives resort to stay at.

Question 7 / 9

Where do you want to stay?

You can select multiple
Why?

Though you might not spend the majority of your awake time in your room, it is still an important thing to consider.

The Maldives offers everything from an inland “garden” stay (where you usually won't be able to see the sea) to a “beach” stay where you can take a few steps from your bed and be in the ocean.

Furthermore many maldivian resorts offer an overwater room where you sleep above the waves, most of them with your own private steps into the blue. Some resorts offer what we call “half beach half water” rooms where you get the best of both worlds.

A few resorts offer underwater rooms where you get to sleep looking out on the beautiful corals reef and fish.

Question 8 / 9

How do you feel about sharing walls with your neighbors?

You can select multiple
Why?

When selecting your room another important thing to consider is your privacy level.

Some rooms are like apartments where you share a wall with the neighbors and have upstairs/downstairs neighbors.

The most common type is the duplexes where you share a wall with your neighbor, this can be an advantage if traveling in a bigger group, but can be a disadvantage if you want to ensure privacy and quiet hours when sleeping.

Of course you have the option to choose a fully standalone villa where you’ll only be disturbed by the sound of waves and birds.

Question 9 / 9

What are you looking for in your room?

You can select multiple
Why?

Another thing to consider when selecting your room is the amenities you require.

Do you want to try one of the famous maldivian outdoor bathrooms?

Maybe you want your own jacuzzi to hang out in?

Or do you want full privacy with taking a dip in the pool having your own?
